The gorgeous red menu buttons by Rad in particular. I read the rules and I looked over your site. My head is ready to explode..so much here! I will try my first with something hopefully manageable for me, but still a big deal. For Rad's buttons, do I need to download to photobucket first or just right click the code and put it in the custom images section? I want to follow proper form. Maybe it's spelled out and I just missed it. With so much to see here, I might have gotten sidetracked. Here is my proboards: samanthastone.proboards.com/index.cgi? Thank you! and JJ knows I'm not a creep. eta: I'm smoface on my board. The original owner asked me to take over the board in March. We finished the proper transfer with proboards in April. Thank you again for this great forum. I really like the way you organized the codes too.

You mean the hover menu buttons? Meaning the glow that the buttons get when you put your mouse over them? If you are referring to that, then you would need to use Subdevo's Easy Image Rollovers with Preload code. Follow the instructions there. In any given case, you should always make the menu button images first. Upload them to whatever hosting site your using (photobucket in your case), and finally put them in your site. Hope this was useful. If not then please elaborate more on what you're looking for to have a better understanding of what you want, and it will be easier for us to help you out.

Ah ok, now I understand a bit more. So yes nina, follow Speed's instructions. Hot-linking is not allowed here, or you could get in trouble with the big bad RADster. ;D So host them first to your photobucket account, then put them in your forum using your own links.

Hot-linking is not allowed here, or you could get in trouble with the big bad RADster. ;D Well, I'm actually not that big...., nor bad either, but you will get in trouble if you hot-link those images. So, just follow the instruction from my friends and you're all set, Nina. In a nutshell: - Right click each image and select "Save as.." from the pop-up menu. - Select a folder on your PC and save the image(s). - Upload the image(s) to your image host (Photobucket, ImageShack, etc.) - Copy the URL of the uploaded image to the Custom Images Section in your Admin Panel. If you have any more questions feel free to ask.

Nice buttons, Rad. I'm sort of helping Nina out and suggested she get in touch with you. In that same vein, she also has multiple skins, something I'm not totally familiar with, but do think she might need some help putting in buttons for all the skins.
How does that work, multiple skins and buttons?

How does that work, multiple skins and buttons? Pretty simple actually. Go to Admin - Skins / Forum Colors - Customize Images - select a skin from the dropdown menu. Then just add the buttons. No coding required.

Thanks for the reply, Rad. Will the same button show for all skins?

No, only for the selected skin.
You can have different Menu Buttons for each skin.

Brilliant! Thanks Rad. That is one of the reasons I never got into making multiple skins. I did give it a try 3-4 years ago, but so many of the graphics were shared by all the skins. Maybe I'll have to investigate more.
Thanks for your help.

Keep in mind that this will only work for the images in the "Customize Images" area. If you have images in your css or in codes you'll have to use a different approach which is a lot harder...!

Yes, Rad, and that is another reason I don't do mulltiple skins, I use a lot of images in my codes. I saw a code, probably here, that works around that problem, but it looked pretty involved.

It sure is, JJ. I played around with this a few years ago and editing a forum with multiple hosted skins is a real pain in the ass...!
