cloudianpublicity.com/index.cgi?board=abridgedseriesI put up a marckup banner for preview on there. What do you guys think? Should we put the board name on the banner or leave it without text ? Or most importantly do you not think we should have a separate banner for the boards ? Edit: A secondary example is the KHDW board under creations, the name on the image needs editing but otherwise its pretty well done.

I think the name of your forum needs to be shown somewhere on the page.........

To me it's like creating a brand name and getting it drilled into the viewers mind. I can't think of a well known site that doesn't have the site name on each page.

Then how about increasing the banner size so the name isnt as much of an issue in the placing?
Ive always gone for 900x200, why not 900x300 ?

It's just a personal thought of mine. If you don't want to change the banner then I'd suggest changing the nav tree 'home' to your forum name. That way it's still obvious that someone is viewing your site.

What would you think if we did 900x300 or more banenrs though ? If we made the banner bigger then its not as big of an issue if we have the name.... the issue is the text and the menubar... We'd have: Cloudain Publicity - Tv Shows and then below that the menubar ontop of the image. with only 200 height it would crowd the image Example image: img192.imageshack.us/img192/9822/tvshowinsidebanner.png

I agree that would crowd the image. Maybe put your forum name in the space under the banner ?

Honest opinion is : The banner looks great but maybe too big..... I think having the forum name in the space under the banner would look good. But I'm no graphic expert, in fact, I'm terrible with graphics ! The choice is yours.....
EDIT: To me there needs to be something between the banner and the listing. It looks a bit empty.

probably wont look so big with text there. At that size the text wont cover up parts that matter to the picture. Thats always a problem at 200 height.
Im going to put in head/base images, not sure what else we can ? :?
