Like the title of this tread says, we're having a contest.  We are looking for a brand new logo for IOD. Something fresh, different, cool, etc. that will replace all the different kinds of logos we are using now.       If you have any graphic skills and you're up to the challenge of competing with your fellow IOD members, here's your change. The rules: - Any and all members can participate (including Staff).
- Each member is allowed only one post, however, you may post as many designs as you want. (You can post them all at once or add your designs one at a time by using the modify button.)
- The text IOD and/or InterOcean Designs has to be in the design.
- Image size limits are 500x500px.
You can use any color, style, font, whatever. Just let your imagination run wild. |

Officially entering the contest now. Logo #1:  Logo #2:  Logo #3a (B&W):  Logo #3b (Metal):  I loved the basic design of Speed's LOGO 1 and I listened to JJ's remarks ("I would think there would be something oceanic involved in the design." and "...it would work well with a sleek cobalt steel enhancement."), so I combined those ideas and came up with this Logo #3c:  |

I love the 3b one too, RAD.
I also like Speed's logo #2. And the blue ones are verly nice, easy on the eyes.

Waaaaaay early to decide, but if I were to choose right now, it would have to be:
Speed's Logo 2 and RAD's Logo #3b
Just maybe these or whatever is decided in the end, could be implemented in a image rollover effect.

Pretty slick designs, you guys!  My mind is blown! For Speed's entry, I'd pick this: How did you make the binary digits wrap around the Earth render? It certainly baffles me! ;D And this one from RAD: That metallic effect is mesmerizing.  But if I were to choose just one, well..... Tough choice.  Both logos are sooooo good!  |

I have a question... it's about the name of the site. I would think there would be something oceanic involved in the design. I think it is beautifully decorated now with the shades of black, gray and orange. Yet... I see so many black sites online, it seems to be the flavor of the decade. I loved Speeds blue renditions and it would work well with a sleek cobalt steel enhancement.
I just think you can look sleek and professional without being black. Just my opinion.
