Okay I have my border image set at 1000 px width and then the board is at 950 px. These are the settings I have for the plugin. With these settings the border at the top and the bottom is stretching the board making the top and bottom borders the same width as the board. Now I tried changing the width in the plugin for the New Forum Width to the same width as the borders but when I did that it really messed things up. Also just messing around I added some gradients to the Head Base and Side Images Plugin and this Plugin is creating a conflict as you can see. countrythemes.proboards.com/I am at a lost unless there is something that isn't wanting to work. Still even the way you did yours RAD it still doesn't put the border like it does with the code as you can see here.

Okay I just got lost here RAD. How did you do the frame around the board without the middle image filling behind the board as a background? Create a border of the desired width on a tranparent background and cut it in three pieces, so you'll have a top, middle and bottom:
On your forum, go to Admin > Themes > Color & Theme Creator and select the Theme you want for this border. Find the setting for the Forum Width, make a note of it and change it to the new width of the border images (which have to be wider). Now go to the Plug-in. Select the Theme and enter the original width of your forum (the width you made a note of) along with the url's of the border images.
Then just click Save and you're good to go.

RAD that worked. I see what I did wrong but this still doesn't do what I am wanting. Notice the two screenshots below. This is how it looks with this plugin. But this is what I am wanting to do notice how the border goes all the way to the bottom to frame in everything as you can see with the screenshot below. Also I still can't use this plugin because it is conflicting with my Head Base and Side Images Plugin from <i>pebble</i>. As you can see below it isn't allowing for my Categories to be separated. I enjoy using my head and base images with the themes I create. Other than that this is perfect. One thing I have also learned depending on the color of the pattern you use the less it sticks out like a sore thumb. Here is another that I did using a darker theme and a colored pattern similar to the background color thus helping it blend in more. chrissysplayground.proboards.com/

By cheating.
Although @<i>pebble</i>league could probably modify the plug-in to do the same thing in his sleep, plug-ins are way out of my league. So I replaced the plug-in with a Template Mod and some CSS. Not really much to it. Once you have the images, you'll just need to add 3 or 4 lines to the Forum Wrapper, add a few simple lines to the CSS and you're done.
I wanted to post the Mod from my test forum but there seems to be a Cloudflare problem at the moment. PB is investigating the problem. As soon as this is solved I'll post the Mod and the corresponding css.

Seems the Cloudfare problem is resolved, so here's the Mod.
I created the border images first. The border is 15px wide with a 15px marging between the borders and the forum, which is 940px wide. So, the border images should be 15 (left border) + 15 (left margin) + 940 (forum) + 15 (right margin) + 15 (right border) = 1000px wide. The top and bottom images should be 15 (border) + 15 (margin) = 30 px high. Since the middle image is repeated vertically, the hight depends on the pattern you use (for best results use a seamless tile).
Go to Admin>Themes>Advanced Styles & CSS>Style Sheet, select the Theme you want the border in and add the following lines to the bottom:
/* Outer Forum Border */ #ofbtop{ width: 1000px; margin: 0 auto -3px; } #ofbmid{ width: 1000px; margin: 0 auto; } #ofbbot{ width: 1000px; margin: -16px auto; }
Note: Replace the "width: 1000px;" with the width of YOUR images! Note: Depending on the height of your top and bottom images you might have to adjust the negative values for the margins (when you're finished with this mod) to eliminate any space between the images.
While in the Admin Panel, go to Themes>Layout Templates>Forum Wrapper (make sure you're still in the right Theme) and add the following lines between {/if} and <div id="wrapper">:
<div id="ofbtop"><img src="URL TO TOP IMAGE" /></div> <div id="ofbmid" style="background-image:url('URL TO MIDDLE IMAGE');">
So it should look like this:
{/if} <div id="ofbtop"><img src="URL TO TOP IMAGE" /></div> <div id="ofbmid" style="background-image:url('URL TO MIDDLE IMAGE');"> <div id="wrapper">
Then add the following lines (near the bottom) between {/if} and </body>:
</div> <div id="ofbbot"><img src="URL TO BOTTOM IMAGE" /></div>
So it should look like this:
{/if} </div> <div id="ofbbot"><img src="URL TO BOTTOM IMAGE" /></div> </body>
Note: Make sure you replace the "URL TO ..." with the actual url's of you images.

Hi. Could you tell me if this is the same border plugin that used to be called Outer Forum Border Using Images BZ? Also created by <i>pebble</i>.

Probably, or probably not! It's so long since I've looked at this code. If you're using this then it's probably better to update to the the latest version. Updating a plugin- Disable the old plugin (DO NOT DELETE IT).
- Download the new plugin.
- Import the new plugin to your site.
- You should be asked if you want to import settings, select yes.
- Check the settings & enable the plugin.
- If you're happy, you can now delete the old plugin.

The plug-in is called 'Border AROUND Forum" for a reason. You're supposed to create a border that is WIDER then the actual forum! So, either create your border images (2x15=30px) wider then the forum OR set the forum width to match the inside width of your images (970px).
Ok, that helps. The first post makes it sound like they are the same width as the forum. I am having problems getting the images to show at all. They appear as broken. How do I determine the inside dimension? Thanks.
